Basuki: Yellow Box must Be Installed at All Intersections

Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama wants the yellow box junction (YBJ) to be installed at all intersections. The yellow box junction is a stripe-shaped road marking square or rectangular with yellow color. The aim is the vehicle not faltered while in the intersection.

"I ordered the yellow box installed at all intersections. This is because Jakarta people do not budge during traffic jam, like in intersection of traffic sign," he expressed, at City Hall, Monday (2/1).

He added, with such yellow box, the road user is hoped could be orderly. If there are vehicles in the yellow box, vehicles conduct contra-flow will be prohibited from entering. "If all people are discipline, all can be controlled," he expressed.

Basuki: Transportation Dept Head Must Focus in Resolving Traffic Congestion

With yellow box, the officer can give ticketing sanction if there is traffic offender. Yet the people also need socialization about use of yellow box.

Additionally, Basuki also complained on unavailable of officers at several points. He said, it is surely causing severe congestion.

"We are now recruiting contract worker and I want all must be exist, no more excuses," he asserted.
